Southland University School of Law in Pasadena, California is one of the most respected institutions. THE EXECUTIVE LAW PROGRAM:
This program is designed for Executives, Professionals, and Administrators who are working in the corporate, governmental or private Business World, the program provides the working professionals with a comprehensive Legal Education that he vitally needs to operate in today’s world. The areas of study cover; contracts, corporations, Insurance Law, Real
Property and Remedies. Upon successful completion of the program, Southland University will confer upon the student the title and certificate of CERTIFIED LEGAL SPECIALIST. The program is designed to be completed within a year; however, students are allowed two years for completion.
For those Professionals who wish to specialize in a particular area, (e.g. contract, corporate, etc.), advance courses from Southland Law School’ Juris Decorate program can be taken if the student later desires to pursue a Legal Education with Southland University’s School of Law. The advance course work will apply towards his Juris Doctorate Degree. THE LEGAL ASSISTANT
OR PARA-LEGAL PROGRAM:
A Para-legal is a legally trained professional who can utilize special skills and training with the legal professional as a legal assistant. The training then qualifies him/her to work for corporations, government, agencies, etc. almost every level of our system deals with the complexities of our Legal System and the developing role of the paralegal professionals assured by the growing number of large corporations, major law firms, and governmental offices which are seeking to employ paralegal professionals. At the last count, the Government alone had over twenty departments which employ legal assistants.
The Para-Legal Program is designed to give the untrained student all the skill and legal knowledge he or she needs to be an effective legal assistance. Course work covers areas of Criminology, Criminal Justice Administration, Contract, Torts, Business Administration/ Organization, Criminal Law, Criminal procedure, Civil Procedure, Taxation Legal Research, Domestic Relations, Trust and Estates, and professional responsibilities. Upon successful completion of the program, Southland University will confer upon the student the title and degree of ASSOCIATE OF PARALEGAL SCIENCE. Students may also specialize in a field of Law by taking any advance course from Southland University’s School of Law’s Juris Doctorate program. All advance course work will apply towards a Juris Doctorate degree if the student later decides to pursue further legal studies at Southland University’s School of Law in Pasadena, California. The Paralegal program is designed to be completed in a year. Southland University also offers a vocational training program to qualified candidates in most parts of the world.
